Indoor archery is shot throughout Australia but is usually shot only during the winter months.
INDOOR ROUNDS
There are four different indoor rounds shot in Australia

Tournaments can be shot as a single or double round of the rounds listed above.
SCORING
FITA Indoor Rounds
Recurve, longbow and barebow compound score the same as outdoor target round.
Compound score using the X ring as the 10 scoring zone, the out er ten zone and the nine zone score as 9 points.
National Indoor Rounds
For all equipment styles scoring is the same as outdoor traget rounds.
TARGET FACES
Indoor archery can be shot using one of 3 target face styles, single face, triple (triangle) face, triple (vertical) face, the choise is up to the individual archer and organising committee.
That is to say when using triple faces the organising committee can decide to shoot either triangle fcaes or vertical faces, but all triple faces for a tournement must be the same type, you can not mix triangle faces with vertical faces.
Single faces are sccored from 10 points to one point.
Triple faces from 10 points to 6 points, any arrow outside of the scoring zone is scared as a miss (M).
If you shoot more then one arrow into a triple face the highest scoring arrow will be scoresed as a miss (M)
When shooting at triple faces you are not required to shot these in any order, although the individual target faces are numbered

SHOOTING
All indoor eventstare conducted in the same format.
Arrows are shot in 3 arrow ends within 2 minute timing with a 20 second call to the shooting line and a warning (orange light) when there is 30 seconds to the completion of the end of shooting.
Usually 4 archers are allocated to a target and archers shot in two details A/B and C/D.
When shooting at single or triangle triple faces (which are placed 4 to a butt) archer A shoots at the top left target with archer B shooting at the top right target. Archer C will shoot at the bottom left target and archer D at the bottom right target.
When shooting the order of shooting will totate each end as follows -
AB - CD
CD - AB
AB - CD
etc
PRACTICE
For FITA Indoor events there there shall be a minimum of 20 minutes and a maximum of 45 minutes practice (the period shall be determined by the organising committee. At major chmapionships there will be a 15 minute break between prcatice and scoring but at all other evenst shall may commence immeditaly after the finish of practice.
For the National Indoor rounds there shall practice shall be made available to all archers before commencement of an event and shall consist of either a minimum of 6 arrows (2 ends of 3 arrows) or for a fixed period of time.
The extent and type of practice shall be at the discretion of the club or tournament organisers, and shall be notified to all competitors to enable them to avail themselves of the opportunity. eg: two ends of three arrows or unlimited practice on the target ran
ge up to 15 minutes before commencement of the event. All practice shall be conducted under the control of the DOS.
In the case of several rounds comprising a tournament or event there shall be practice at the commencement of each round. In this context, a so-called “double round” shall be deemed to be two separate rounds; a “combined round” however shall be deemed to be a single round.
When a round is shot over several days there shall be practice at the commencement of each day.
