WORLD CUP - Italy May 2007
Australian team takes SILVER
Final Men Team Match Play - Australia V Great Britain
The British team began the match with a 6 point lead over the Australian team. The Aussies didn’t want to let it go and they made the gap lower and lower as the ends were shot.
In the second end, the British team shot a 6, which frightened them a bit, the score difference was now only 2 pts (158-156).
In the next end, the British shot 10-9-9, while the Australians shot 8-9-10. The last end was very exciting as the Aussies shot with 27 pts out of the possible 30 points, the British team had to shoot only 26 pts to clinch the match. However they shot 25 pts which tied the match !
The shoot-off resulted in a one point advantage to the British team who shot 27 pts against 26 for the Aussies. Gold goes to Great-Britain - Silver goes to Australia.
