Archery Australia have officially launched their new VETS into Sport Veteran Defence Force Program in partnership with Veteran Sport Australia, thanks to the generous support of Sport Australia and the participation grant they have provided both organisations with.
Archery Australia and Veteran Sport Australia have together received funding to invest into Archery based programs to improve the health and well-being of the Australian Veteran Defence Force community, with the program encouraging the engagement of more Veteran Defence Force service and ex-service men, women, and their families to become involved with Archery and give the sport of Archery a go!
Veterans into Archery focuses in on encouraging healthy and more active lifestyles by taking up increased sport and recreational activities.
Some of these activities that registered Archery clubs will be running include the following;
- Free Come ‘N’ Try Shooting
- Get introduced to the components of Recurve, Compound, Longbow, & Crossbow shooting
- Exhibition Matches
- Recurve Match Play
- Compound Match Play
- Learning the basic skills of Archery fundamentals, techniques, pressure shooting
- Hoverball Archery Inflatable Target Shooting
So come along, make new friends, build new relationships, and much more!
