Para and Vision Impaired Archery

NEWS FROM PARA AND VISION IMPAIRED COMMITTEE Archery Australia as part of the 2014-2016 Strategic Plan has identified the need to develop a Program directly aimed at introducing and developing Para and Vision Impaired members into mainstream Archery, as well as participation in Para and Vision Impaired International Events. To this end Archery Australia Board has created a Para and Vision Impaired Committee. The Para and Vision Impaired Committee first initiatives are to identify all current Archery Australia members with a disability as well as identify Archery Australia Clubs who are currently engaged in Para or Vision Impaired activities or would like to become part of a Para and Vision Impaired Program. The Para and Vision Impaired Program will have three main aims, ·      Develop and engage with our current Para and Vision Impaired members ·      Introduce new Para and Vision Impaired athletes to the sport of Archery ·      Identify, develop and prepare Para and Vision Impaired people for World Championships and the 2016 and 2020 Paralympic Games The Para and Vision Impaired Committee Chair, Dr Tom Wild would like to highlight an excerpt from the Archery Australia Board News, October, 2013: We are pleased to formally announce the creation of this Committee, which will be chaired by Dr Tom Wild and include Kevin Faulkner and Hazel Hockley as members. We urge any clubs which have involvement in these aspects of our sport to provide details to the Archery Australia Office, to enable a picture to be formed of the current status within Australia.
